Criminality
The myth of the inherent criminality of Blacks is coupled with eliminationist rhetoric and dates back to the days of slavery. Black criminality has many myths: crime is caused by a weak character, which again insinuates the inferiority of blacks; Blacks possess more guns; etc. The disparity of Black versus non-Black criminality can be seen clearly in jail records. For example, minorities in the criminal justice system are imprisoned at higher rates and face longer sentences than whites of similar crimes.
